Whitney Hunter, the widow of U.S. Army paratrooper Sgt. Jonathan Hunter, says that President Donald Trump was supposed to call her after her husband died in combat in August, but never did.
Hunter recalled that an Army Casualty Officer told to her stay close to her phone for a few days (after her husband’s body was flown home) because Trump would be calling:
I just never received the phone call… I don’t have anything negative to say directly about our president, but I do know the difference between right and wrong and whenever you say you’re going to do something, you’re supposed to do it.
