U.S. Coast Guard Chases, Catches Submarine Carrying 17,000 Pounds Of Cocaine In International Waters

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro chased and boarded a submarine carrying 17,000 pounds of cocaine worth $232 million off the Colombian and Ecuadorian coasts., according to the U.S. Defense Department.

The U.S. doesn’t have legal authority in international waters, but a Coast Guard official told the submarine operators to “stop your boat now!” in Spanish while others climbed on the vessel, notes ABC News.
