President Donald Trump launched a bizarre Twitter attack against Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California and accused him of “illegally” leaking intelligence:
Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!

Trump may have been referring to the Democratic memo that reportedly debunks a pro-Trump memo written by Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California and his staff.
In response to the preisdent’s tweet, Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia told CNN that Trump was unhinged:
This man is unhinged. That kind of tweet from the President of the United States makes no sense at all if you have nothing to worry about. If you already feel that the Republican Nunes memo was exculpatory, what are you worried about?
To actually use those chilling words — “he must be stopped” — that’s the kind of language you hear in an authoritarian regime somewhere overseas, it’s not the kind of language we use in democratic discourse in the United States.
