Trump Aides Say Trump Will Pardon Paul Manafort, Could Help Mueller’s Probe

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort will reportedly plead guilty to two counts of conspiracy in his Virginia case as part of Robert Mueller’s  Russia probe, but Trump aides are telling POLITICO that President Donald Trump will pardon Manafort.

Manafort’s plea deal with Mueller includes a 10-year cap on prison time (time for his separate Virginia and Washington D.C. cases simultaneously), dismisses deadlocked charges from his Virginia trial and forces him to forfeit four properties.

Former U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that a Trump pardon would be a “best-case scenario” for special counsel Robert Mueller (video below):

The best-case scenario for Mueller is Trump does issue a pardon and then that issuance of the pardon becomes additional evidence they are using against the president, but Manafort faces state charges.
