Thousand Oaks Gunman’s High School Coach Says He Sexually Assaulted Her

Ian David Long’s former high school track coach, Dominique Colell, says that he assaulted her long before his mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, California, that killed 13 people.

Colell recalled the moment she heard about the shooting to KCBS:

I turned on the news and I was watching it and when they said his name my jaw just dropped. He attacked me. He attacked his high school track coach. Who does that?

Colell, a former track coach at Newbury Park High School, says Long assaulted her during his senior year when she found a cell phone and was trying to locate the owner:

Ian came up and started screaming at me that was his phone. He just started grabbing me. He groped my stomach. He groped my butt. I pushed him off me and said after that, “you’re off the team.”

Colell says other coaches and the school told her to accept Long’s apology and not ruin his future in the Marine Corps:

I should have reported it then.

Colell says she doesn’t believe the mass shooting is just a case of PTSD:

There are hundreds of thousands of people with PTSD. They don’t go around shooting people. This kid was mentally disturbed in high school. There were signs and the administration knew it.
