Rep. Jim Jordan Falsely Claims That Ohio State Sex Abuse Report Clears Him

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio falsely claimed that an investigative report cleared him of allegedly turning a blind eye to the sexual abuse of students while he was an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State.

The report found that former Ohio State team doctor Richard Strauss sexually abused at least 177 male students from 1979 to 1996, but the report never mentioned Jordan by name, notes the Washington Post.

The report said that investigators could not make “conclusive determinations” about whether coaches were aware of Strauss’s alleged sexual misconduct.

Several former Ohio State wrestlers claimed in 2018 that Jordan knew or must have known about the sexual abuse between 1987 and 1995, when Jordan was employed at the school.

Jordan – a noted conspiracy theorist — took a victory lap by falsely claiming the report has supported his many denials: “I think the report speaks for itself. It confirmed everything I have said all along.”
