Pro-Trump Pastor, Who Says A Woman’s Title Is ‘Helper,’ Wins Seat In U.S. House
Republican Mark Harris defeated Democrat Dan McCready for the U.S. House seat in North Carolina’s 9th District by under 2,000 votes.
Harris, the former pastor of First Baptist Church in Charlotte, thanked President Donald Trump in a speech to supporters, notes WBTV.
In 2013, Harris preached that “only one title is given to a woman in all of scripture… the title given to a woman is ‘helper,'” noted ABC News.
CNN notes that Harris has said that Islam was “dangerous” and the work of Satan.
Harris also has claimed that peace between Israel and the Palestinians would not happen until Muslims and Jews accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.
In 2014, Harris also showed his congregation a conspiratorial video claiming that Islam was taking over the world, including the U.S.
Harris’ website says he supports repealing Obamacare — which will bring back insurance bans against people with pre-existing conditions — he called for “market based” health insurance, which Americans have had for decades.
