Pence Snickers, Dodges Question About Caged Immigrant Children Denied Soap And Toothpaste

Vice President Mike Pence avoided questions multiple times as to why the Trump administration is denying some imprisoned immigrant children soap and toothpaste. on CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper on June 23.

Tapper asked Pence about a Trump admin. lawyer defending the lack soap and toothpaste before a judge:

Aren’t toothbrushes and blanket and medicine, basic conditions for kids, aren’t they a part of how the United States of America, the Trump administration treats children?

Pence quickly avoided responsibility during his answer:

Well, of course they are, Jake. Well, I — I can’t — I can’t speak to what that lawyer was saying.

Pence tried to blame Democrats for not giving the Trump admin more money to cage more immigrant children, but Tapper reminded the self-proclaimed Christian, Pence, that he could fix the present situation:

But this is going on right now,. This is the wealthiest nation in the world. We have money to give toothpaste and soap and blankets to these kids in this facility in El Paso County. Right now, we do.

Pence repeatedly dodged the question with a snicker.
