A minister, his wife and their two teen sons were arrested following a physical confrontation with police officers in Lilburn, Georgia, on March 24.
A video filmed by a witness shows the minister’s family fighting with officers at the Inglesia Cristiana Evangelica Church, notes WSB-TV.
Police Lt. Tim Allen told WSB-TV: “The officer was grabbed by his throat and slammed into the glass, pinned up to the glass door and was unable to move at that point.”
Police came to the Inglesia Cristiana Evangelica Church after a woman reported that she saw her runaway teen daughter.
The mom told WSB-TV:
They have my daughter, they won’t let her have communication with me. The lady from the church was yelling at me. They said they had custody from DFACS, but it’s not true.
According to police, the woman’s daughter was sitting in the back of the minister’s SUV with one of his sons.
Pastor Wilmer Cruz and his wife Cristina Cruz were charged with numerous crimes; their 16-year-old and 17-year-old children were also arrested.
The 16-year-old was charged as a juvenile.
