Fox News’ Todd Starnes Falsely Claims Parkland Students Have Been Brainwashed Against NRA, Trump
Fox News radio host Todd Starnes falsely claimed that the student survivors of the school massacre in Parkland, Florida, were being brainwashed against President Donald Trump, the NRA and Second Amendment.
Starnes falsely claimed on Facebook that the “mainstream media” was using the kids, who have chosen to go on TV and oppose Trump and the NRA:
The Mainstream Media is using survivors of the Florida school shooting as propaganda pawns to attack President Trump, the NRA and the Second Amendment. They are literally using children as human shields in their bloodthirsty attempt to take down the president.
Starnes also pushed his conspiracy theory on Twitter:
We can’t fault the children’s ideology – they don’t know any better. They’ve been brainwashed by government-funded indoctrination camps – pardon me – public schools.

Starnes also echoed a similar falsehood on his radio show, notes Joe My God:
The media and the Democrats are coming after gun owners in America. This is right out of the Saul Alinsky propaganda playbook, ladies and gentleman, and it is getting ugly. I’m not sure how many Republicans are going to be able to hold the line on this.
Starnes has a long history of making false claims, noted The Atlantic in 2015, and Media Matters.
