Fox News host Sandra Smith sent her “thoughts and prayers” to the families of the Thousand Oaks shooting victims even though Susan Schmidt-Orfanos, whose son Telemachus Orfanos, was killed, said she didn’t want them.
Orfanos told how CBS This Morning that her son survived the Las Begas shooting, but not Thousand Oaks:
My son was in Las Vegas with a lot of his friends and he came home, he didn’t come home last night. I don’t want prayers, I don’t want thoughts — I want gun control, and I hope to God nobody sends me any more prayers.
Fox News showed Orfanos’ comments, and noted that 18-year-old niece of former Fox News reporter Adam Housley, who reportedly left Fox News over its pro-Trump coverage, was also a shooting victims.
Smith ignored Orfanos’ request and sent “thoughts and prayers” anyway:
Love, thoughts and prayers to all of them. Adam’s been a colleague a long time.
