E! To Protect Ryan Seacrest From Oscars Embarrassment With 30-Second Delay, Amid Sexual Harassment Claim: Report
E! will reportedly be airing its “Live From the Red Carpet” show outside the Oscars in Los Angeles with a 30-second delay just in case host Ryan Seacrest is confronted about sexual harassment allegations.
An E! spokesperson tried to play down the tape delay to The Hollywood Reporter:
As always, we tape multiple sources of content simultaneously to deliver the best possible show, and there are often brief delays between interviews.
E! Stylist Suzie Hardy told Variety on Feb. 26 that Seacrest groped her vagina, grinded his penis against her and slapped her butt hard.
Seacrest denied the allegations in a statement, reports The Hollywood Reporter:
Yesterday, Variety published a salacious story that revealed the specific claims against me for the first time — even though an independent third-party investigator found insufficient evidence to support the claims.
#MeToo movement founder Tarana Burke told Variety that Seacrest should not be covering the Oscars red carpet.
They really shouldn’t send him [to the Oscars]. We shouldn’t have to make those choices of, “Do we or don’t we?”
