Newly-released body cam video shows police broke into an innocent man’s home to conduct a welfare check, and ordered a police dog to attack him in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Feb. 22.
Before the brutal attack, a police officer pleaded with Dan Lucero to open the door of his home (because his mother asked for a welfare check), notes KOB-TV:
We aren’t here to hurt you. I assure you of that.
However, the police grew impatient and violent after about two minutes, and busted into Lucerno’s home and turned the dog poose on him.
In the police body cam video, Lucero screamed in agony as the K-9 tore chunks of flesh from his leg. The police repeatedly told him to “be quiet.”
Lucero was not charged with any crimes, but he was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
Lucero’s attorney, Matt Coyte, said Officer Brent Aguilar (a Clovis police officer at the scene) is listed in four federal lawsuits that allege excessive force, at times by wrongfully deploying his police dog on innocent people.
