Christian Mississippi Lawmaker Accused Of Punching Wife For Not Undressing For Sex Fast Enough

Mississippi Republican State Rep. Doug McLeod, a self-described Christian, is accused of punching his wife for getting undressed fast enough for sex on May 18.

The George County Sheriff’s Department said McLeod was intoxicated and holding a glass of alcohol in his hand when deputies responded to the McLeod home:

Mr. McLeod had slurred speech and walked slow in a zigzag pattern.

Deputies found blood on the couple’s bed and on the floor in the same room, notes the iloxi Sun Herald.

McLeod’s wife said her husband was drunk and “just snapped,” as he often does when drunk. A second woman, who was at the home, said McLeod’s wife came running up to her room, her face bloodied. The woman shut the door and locked it with McLeod’s wife inside.

McLeod wrote about his religious faith in 2011 on Facebook when he decided to run for office: “My Presbyterian Faith and my wife’s Catholic Faith unite our strong Christian family values.”
