Some black college students were blocked from voting by poll workers at the Liberty Baptist Church in southeast Atlanta.
Georgia State University student Noelle Higgins told ThinkProgress that she was initially denied her right to vote:
I gave my Georgia State ID, and they told me I couldn’t vote because it didn’t have my birthdate on it. So I came out here to the election representatives and they sorted it out so I could vote.
Students Nicholas Perry and Jermaine Noble told ThinkProgress that they were denied traditional voting, and given provisional ballots instead.
Perry said a poll worker told him the address on file was still his home address, but Perry knew that he’d registered with his campus address before Election Day:
I don’t know how that sh*t’s allowed, to be honest.
