Billionaire Tom Steyer Announces White House Run, Former Presidential Candidate Ross Perot Dead At 89

Billionaire activist Tom Steyer announced on video that he was running for president as a Democrat on the same day billionaire Ross Perot, who ran for president in 1992 and 1996, died.

NBC News reports that Steyer, who said he would not run earlier this year, has an email list of 8.3 million names compiled by NextGen, a group he founded to push for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Perot died after a five-month battle with leukemia, reports the Dallas Morning News. He garnered 19 percent of the popular vote in 1992, the best showing for an independent candidate in 20th century.
