TV Station Asks If Calling For Murdering NFL Players Is ‘Over The Line’

WREG, a TV station in Memphis, Tennessee, asked its viewers on Sept. 26 if a firefighter’s call for murdering NFL players was “Freedom of speech, or over the line?”

WREG posted a story on its Facebook page about Jonathan Marotti, a volunteer firefighter in Earle, Arkansas, who wrote on Facebook that “trump should post snipers at the game and each player that takes a knee or sits in the lockerroom should b shot in the head.”

The Earle Fire Department fired Marotti, but WREG is still wrestling with the notion of whether or not a call for killing athletes who kneel is “over the line.”
