Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Hiring 70 Foreign Workers This Winter
President Donald Trump, who attacks U.S. companies for hiring foreign workers, is reportedly hiring 70 foreign workers for his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida this winter.
According to The Palm Beach Post, Trump’s resort got the H-2B visas from Trump’s Department of Labor “to hire 70 maids, cooks and servers at the Mar-a-Lago Club for the 2017-18 tourist season… In 2016-17, Trump hired 64 foreign workers at the Palm Beach property.”
CareerSource Palm Beach County, a job placement agency, told the newspaper that there are plenty of U.S. citizens willing to work at Mar-a-Lago, but that Mar-a-Lago only put in a request for a single banquet server back in 2015.
Trump also got H-2B visas from Trump’s Department of Labor “for 10 waiters and waitresses and six cooks at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, plus eight waiters and waitresses at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.,” reports The Palm Beach Post.
