President Donald Trump lectured on “Judeo-Christian values” on the same morning that he decided to cut insurance subsidies for millions of low-income Americans.
The New York Times notes “Without the subsidies, insurance markets could quickly unravel. Insurers have said they will need much higher premiums and may pull out of the insurance exchanges created under the Affordable Care Act if the subsidies were cut off.”
While Speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C., Trump lectured on “Judeo-Christian values” such as forcing store employees to say “Merry Christmas,” notes Right Wing Watch:
We are stopping cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values. As we approach the end of the year—you know, we’re getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore. They don’t use the word Christmas because it’s not politically correct. You go to department stores and they’ll say Happy New Year and they’ll say other things; it’ll be red, they’ll have it painted but they don’t say it. Well, guess what? We’re saying Merry Christmas again.
