Trump Denies Callous Call To Widow, Can’t Provide Evidence

President Donald Trump denied that he made callous remarks to the widow of the late Army Sgt. David Johnson, despite the eyewitness accounts of Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson of Florida and Sgt. Johnson’s mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson.

Wilson said Trump told Johnson’s widow: “[H]e knew what he signed up for … but when it happens, it hurts anyway.”

Jones-Johnson confirmed this to The Washington Post: “President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband.”

While speaking to reporters, Trump said: “I didn’t say what that congresswoman said. I did not say what she said.”

When asked to prove his claim, Trump failed to back it up, but issued a veiled threat against Wilson: “Let make her statement again and then you will find out.”
