School Cancels Halloween Parade Because It ‘Is Not Inclusive Of All The Students’

Boyden Elementary School in Walpole, Massachusetts has canceled its annual Halloween costume parade.

The school principal explained the decision in a message to parents, notes WBZ-TV:

[T]he costume parade is out of our ordinary routine and can be difficult for many students. Also, the parade is not inclusive of all the students and it is our goal each and every day to ensure all student’s individual differences are respected.

The school is going to have a Halloween party after school hours, but Halloween will be called “Black and Orange” spirit day, but several parents say that is not inclusive of all the students.
