Republican Candidate Tyler Tannahill Holding AR-15 Raffle, Same Gun Used In Parkland Mass Shooting
Kansas Republican candidate Tyler Tannahill is holding an AR-15 raffle for his congressional campaign only days after a gunman used an AR-15 took kill 17 people in a mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Tyler Tannahill, a Marine veteran, posted the raffle on his campaign Facebook (above) and Twitter (below) pages on Feb. 13; he removed the Facebook posting.

Tannahill, who is running against U.S. Rep. Lynn Jenkins, said he has no plans to stop his assault rifle raffle in light of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, notes The Kansas City Star.
Tannahill claimed he was giving away the AR-15 in support of the Second Amendment, but failed to explain how his giveaway supports the Second Amendment which was written during the time of muskets.
Hours after the mass shooting, Tannahill posted a link on Facebook to a program by the Buckeye Firearms Foundation that provides weapons training to teachers. Tannahill claimed without proof that the program “saves lives.”
Tannahill said he supports gun training for teachers:
I don’t think more laws could have prevented this (the Florida shooting). We’re not trying to raise money off the school shooting,” Tannahill said. We do want to find a solution and I think this FASTER program is something we can look into implementing.
