Portland Police Shoot Carjacking Suspect Inside Homeless Shelter

Police in Portland, Oregon, shot and killed a carjacking suspect after he ran inside a homeless shelter on April 7.

John Terrio, who was across the street, told KGW-TV: “They [police] yelled some commands to the person and seconds later fired like eight shots in a row.”

Witness Morgan Pickering filmed the police entering the homeless shelter and firing their guns.

Pickering told The Oregonian: “It was horrific. We were all scared for our lives.”

Pickering said the suspect had a knife and was “stabbing himself in the neck.”
