Two teen girls allegedly set a dog on fire, and posted a video of the animal cruelty on Snapchat in Guilford County, South Carolina, say police.
In the video, a teen girl is seen using an aerosol can and lighter to light the dog on fire dog while another teen films, notes WGHP.
Animal control went to the dog’s home on Aug. 27, and placed the pooch in the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
According to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, the dog’s fur was singed, but the animal’s skin was not burned.
People have called the sheriff’s office to demand charges be filed against the against a 13 and a 14-year-old, but no charges have been filed yet.
“These could be very serious charges, and because of that, we don’t rush into it,” said Sgt. David Posten.
The case will be turned over to a juvenile investigator, but will ultimately up to the district attorney’s office to decide on charges.
