Oklahoma state Rep. Kevin McDugle threw a tantrum over teachers exercising their First Amendment rights via protests at the Capitol.
McDugle posted a video of his rant on Facebook Live, and deleted the posting, but copies were made on sisal media. notes Tulsa World.
McDugle claimed the underpaid teachers were not setting a good example:
I’m not voting for another stinking measure when they’re acting the way they’re acting. You’re losing support of people who supported you all year long. Now you’re going to come here and act like this after you got a raise? Go ahead, be pissed at me if you want to.
While McDugle cried the blues, Ray, a fifth-grader teacher, slammed the Republican-controlled state legislature on MSNBC:
There’s something wrong when you have a Master’s Degree and you’re ringing a cash register to help put your kid through college and pay for things like scouting.
We’ve got money to fix this. And, remember, this is the same legislature that’s found money to give themselves several raises over the last few years, but they’re trying to tell us they can’t put a textbook in every kid’s hand? We’re not buying it, ma’am.
If they put an ‘R’ on a fence post and run it against one of these ones who don’t fix this funding I will vote for the fence post
