Ohio Firefighter Suspended For Allegedly Saying He’d Rescue Dog Over N-Word

A volunteer firefighter in Franklin Township, Ohio was indefinitely suspended for allegedly writing a racist statement on Facebook.

Tyler Roysdon allegedly wrote that if he had to choose between saving a dog or a black man, he would save the dog because “one dog is more important than a million n*ggers.”

Franklin Township spokeswoman Traci Stivers told WHIO in an email: “Fire Chief Steve Bishop immediately contacted the firefighter and directed the comments be removed.”

Stivers said that Bishop does not have the authority to fire employees, which requires a vote by the trustees.

Roysdon has not issued a comment.
