Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Tries To Stop Same-Sex Marriage In Romania
After failing to stop same-sex marriage in her home state of Kentucky, four-time married Rowan County clerk Kim Davis is trying to stop gay marriage in Romania.
The Lexington Herald-leader reports that Davis is touring Romania with Harry Mihet, Liberty Counsel’s vice president of legal affairs and chief litigation counsel.
The Liberty Counsel defended Davis when she illegally stopped state employees in her office from certifying same-sex marriages.
The Liberty Counsel claims that over three million Romanians have signed a petition asking for a nationwide vote to define marriage as between one man and one woman.
Mihet claimed in a press release from the Liberty Counsel that Romanians “are receiving [Davis] tearfully and very warmly, because they can still remember the not-so-long-ago days when they were themselves persecuted and imprisoned for their conscience.”
