Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel slammed the Republicans’ Graham-Cassidy bill, which would repeal Obamacare, and Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana for “lying to [his] face.”
In May, Kimmel said all future health care bills should pass the “Jimmy Kimmel test.” Cassidy promised Kimmel that all his health care bills would pass that test.
Kimmel stated on Sept. 19 that the Republicans were trying to “sneak this scam of a bill in”:
This new bill actually does pass the “Jimmy Kimmel test,” but a different “Jimmy Kimmel test.” With this one, your child with a preexisting condition will get the care he needs if, and only if, his father is Jimmy Kimmel.
Health care is complicated, it’s boring, I don’t want to talk about it… That’s what these guys are relying on. We’re all just looking at our Instagram accounts and “liking” things while they’re voting on whether people can keep their children alive or not… This guy, Bill Cassidy, just lied right to my face.
Kimmel told Cassidy to “stop using my name” while trying to take health care away from millions of people.
