Sarah Webb was pulled over for allegedly speeding in April by Officer Courtney Brown who flipped a coin with Officer Kristee Wilson in Roswell, Georgia (raw video below).
Brown’s body cam video showed that she admitted to Wilson that she did not have didn’t have speed detection.
Brown opened a coin flip app on her phone, and said: “A (arrest) head, R (release) tail.”
Brown laughed while doing the electronic coin flip, and Wilson said: “This is tail right?”
Brown responded: “Yeah. So release?”
Wilson changed the rules and said to arrest: “23 (code for arrest).”
Brown laughed: “Michael Jordan? Alright, so I’ve got too fast for conditions, reckless..”
After using a game to decide justice, Brown handcuffed Webb and placed in the back of the police cruiser.
Webb was not aware of the coin flip until WXIA told her:
Wow, these people put my freedom in the hands of a coin flip. And that’s disgusting.
The Roswell Police Department was also oblivious of the coin flip until being informed by WXIA.
Finally awoken to the facts after months, the police department placed both Brown and Wilson on administrative leave.
The charges that Brown filed against Webb were dropped by the prosecutor on July 9.
Webb recalled the moment to WXIA:
She said, “I have watched the videos and I absolutely refuse to prosecute this case.”
