Fox News Host Jesse Watters Defends Trump’s ‘Sh*thole’ Remark About Haiti and African Countries

Fox News host Jesse Watters offer a defense for President Donald Trump who reportedly referred to Haiti and African countries as sh*tholes during a White House meeting immigration (video below).

Two sources told The Washington Post that Trump said: “Why are we having all these people from sh*thole countries come here?”

Watters defended Trump’s comments on Fox News:

Is it a little offensive? Of course. But you know what? This doesn’t move the needle at all. This is how Trump is. He doesn’t care. He shoots from the hip. And if he offends some people, fine.

There’s so many more offensive things happening the world. ISIS beheading people. There’s crime in the inner-city. There are people getting kicked off welfare.

Over on CNN, The Daily Beast’s editor-in-chief John Avalon said Trump’s remark was “racist” (video below):

This is beyond unbefitting of the presidency, which it is. This is beyond not presidential, this is beyond “oh, the big tent Republican party dream has died.” This is straight up racist.

He referred to immigrants and people who’ve gotten asylum here from El Salvador, Haiti and African countries as living in sh*tholes, and that we need more people from Norway instead. I wonder what the real difference is: yeah, wealth, but also whiteness. That’s an ugly underbelly that’s been exposed and we need to confront it.
