Church Plans To Scare People Into Becoming Christians With ‘Hell House’

The Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas is planning its 27th “Hell House,” which is designed to scare people into becoming Christians.

A promo video shows a group of young people being preached at and scared inside the Halloween-themed house.

There’s no mention in the Bible of Christians scaring non-believers into becoming Christians, but the church’s YouTube channel states:

Hell House 27, presented by Trinity Church, is like a haunted house but with a ministry emphasis. Thousands have attended and received prayer each year for the past 26 years. You may have been to a haunted house, but you have never been to hell!

The Friendly Atheist notes:

The rooms in these houses typically include scenes of a woman having an abortion, a school shooting (because there’s no God in schools anymore, amirite?), a former beauty queen descending into prostitution, a gay person dying of AIDS, etc. It’s why, by the end of your journey, you will hopefully commit to Christ to prevent all these awful awful things from occurring.

The church website states:

Hell House was first opened in October of 1991 and is a creative alternative to the traditional haunted house. It is a dramatization of real life situations… Hell house is not meant for children under the age of 13. There are guns, blood, violence, intense scenes, and disturbing images.
