A mom allegedly used a Taser to wake her teen son up for Easter church services on April 1 in Phoenix.
A police report says Sharron Dobbins allegedly “contact tazed her teenage son on the leg.”
Dobbins, who has been charged with child abuse, recalled the eventful morning to KNXV:
I said, “Get up! It’s Jesus Day!” I don’t think I did anything wrong because you’re supposed to put God first and that’s all I was trying to do is tell my kids to put God first.
Dobbins claimed her kids didn’t want to go church services because they wanted to be with their friends.
Dobbins denied using a Taser on her son, but said that she flashed ihe Taser’s lights and made it spark as a threat.
Her son called 911, and Dobbins preached at the 911 operator.
Dobbins referred to the Bible to justify her tactics:
Nobody writes a book on the correct way of parenting. I tell my sons to honor thy mother and thy father or their days will be shortened and that’s my favorite.
However, the boy had two small bumps on his leg where he said the Taser was used. The boy is nowstaying with relatives.
