Accountant Carl Sorabella was fired by his employer, Mary Butler of Haynes Management in Wellesley, Massachusetts after he requested for a more flexible schedule so that he could assist his wife Kathleen, who had just been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer and given only months to live. Carl made it clear that he was willing to work nights and weekends to make up for the time, but Butler fired him anyways.
