Car Tries To Run Down Protesters In Missouri

An unidentified driver tried to run down some peaceful protesters in Kirkwood, Missouri on Sept. 12.

Anti-police brutality protesters were demonstrating in a street when a white SUV roared through them. The vehicle hit an object, stopped, was accosted by two of the demonstrators, and drove off.

Seven minutes before the incident, the alleged driver of the car was caught on video yelling at the protesters for slowing down traffic.

YouTube user Rebelutionary_Z filmed the incident, posted it on YouTube and wrote:

Wed 9/13/17 aprox. 9pmCST, an angry man honks and accelerates towards protesters plowing through at high speed. Just 7 minutes before, we were having a conversation with him. The protest tonight was to bring awareness of the pending Jason Stockley verdict, dropping soon.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports: “Stockley, who is white, fatally shot Anthony Lamar Smith, who is black, after a police chase on Dec. 20, 2011. Prosecutors have alleged Stockley planted a .38-caliber revolver in Smith’s crashed Buick after shooting him five times at close range. The defense has said Stockley shot Smith in self-defense because Stockley believed Smith was reaching for a gun.”
