An Atlanta, Georgia police officer reportedly ran over a black man, Warren Hill, whom he mistook for a domestic violence suspect, and then arrested Hill.
Hill recalled being run over to WSB-TV:
It hurt bad. My head, my neck, my back, my whole body. You get hit by a car, what do you think is going to happen?
I was trying to get away from the cops and I was scared of the cops, so I ran. So they thought I was the suspect and ran me down like a dog or an animal.
The Atlanta Police Department said the officer is on leave while the department’s office of professional standards investigates.
Hill said he was arrested after being run over because he had had an outstanding warrant for a broken taillight and a failure to appear in court.
“Madness, heartless. I am a human being,” Hill added.
