Anti-Abortion Rep. Tim Murphy Told Mistress To Have Abortion: Report
Republican Rep. Tim Murphy of Pennsylvania reportedly asked his mistress, Shannon Edwards, to have an abortion, according to alleged text exchanges between the two back on Jan. 25.
Murphy recently admitted to having an affair with Edwards, a forensic psychologist, notes the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Edwards reportedly texted to Murphy:
And you have zero issue posting your pro-life stance all over the place when you had no issue asking me to abort our unborn child just last week when we thought that was one of the options.
Murphy, a member of the House Pro-Life Caucus, reportedly texted back to Edwards:
I get what you say about my March for life messages. I’ve never written them. Staff does them. I read them and winced. I told staff don’t write any more. I will.
The March For Life is annual anti-abortion rally in Washington D.C.
Additionally, a six-page June 8 memo purportedly written to Murphy by his chief of staff, Susan Mosychuk, said that Murphy created a state of “terror” among his employees, and repeatedly denigrated and threatened them.
The memo warned of an “ongoing and ever more pronounced pattern of sustained inappropriate behavior” by Murphy.
Edwards, Mosychuk and Murphy have not commented on the story.
