While receiving an endorsement from Iowa House Speaker Kraig Paulsen (R), Newt Gingrich was suddenly bombarded with a shout of “mic check” from a man rushing towards him.
“We’re taking over this press conference,” the individual said, before security grabbed and removed him from the room.
Other protesters began shouting, “Put people first,” before they were also taken away by security.
Gingrich has repeatedly been “mic checked” by protesters on the campaign trail. Last week he received one at the University of Iowa, and was also interrupted by the chant at Harvard University in November.
