20,339 Illinois Republicans Vote For Real Nazi Running For Congress
Arthur Jones, the former head of the American Nazi Party, received 20,339 from Illinois Republicans in the GOP primary for Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District on March 20.
Jones, who won the primary unopposed, has reportedly voiced Holocaust denial, anti-Semitism and white supremacist views.
Jones uses a campaign slogan, “IT’S TIME TO PUT AMERICA FIRST.” is similar to President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again.”
Jones’ campaign website has images of the former head of the American Nazi Party speaking at KKK events and neo-Nazi rallies. The website also includes a tab titled, “Holocaust?” featuring a document titled the “The ‘Holocaust Racket’” where he calls the tragedy the “biggest blackest lie in history.” Another tab, titled “Flags of Conflict,” calls the Confederate flag a “symbol of White pride and White resistance.”
Over 20,000 Republicans turned out to vote for Jones, even though Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider denounced Jones earlier this year, notes CNN:
The Illinois Republican Party and our country have no place for Nazis like Arthur Jones. We strongly oppose his racist views and his candidacy for any public office, including the 3rd Congressional District.
Jones will run against Democratic Rep. Daniel Lipinski of Illinois, a social conservative, in November.
