2 Gurneys, 1 Corpse Fall Out Of Coroner’s Van Into Traffic

Two gurneys, one that included a corpse, fell out of coroner’s van and into traffic on Aug. 7 in Olympia, Washington, according to police.

The van was driving from a home death to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office when the gurneys and the body rolled out.

Sydney Fox filmed the scene, and added her colorful commentary: “There’s like a person! I’m like what is that, what’s happening?”

Olympia Police Lt. Paul Lower told The Olympian that the gurney occupied by the dead person was in the middle of the intersection, while the empty gurney rolled into a parking lot .

Police informed the Thurston County Coroner’s Office, which sent a vehicle back to load the dead body and the gurneys.
